Grocery Shopping
So, I'm trying to stay within my budget for groceries, but find it hard to buy enough for 2 weeks and enough healthy stuff for those 2 weeks. Currently, I'm shopping for the entire 2 weeks (till the next paycheck), but I'm thinking about splitting my budget up so I can go grocery shopping every week. Make sense so far? My problem is I want my family to eat healthy, but it seems buying fruit and veggies can be expensive (especially here!). I'm spending about $150 - $200 every 2 weeks which doesn't seem to cut it all the time. How much on average do you spend on groceries? Any advice?

I spend about the same ($125 per week) but it's expensive here too. I spent about $80 a week back home. I try to plan our meals around what foods I can use again. For instance, if I know I'm going to need half an onion for one meal, I try to plan to use the other half that week or the next so it doesn't go to waste. This works for all veggies, meats, pasta, etc. I've found my biggest problem was food going bad before I could use it again so this was a good solution for me. Good luck!
I don't really have a "what works for me" solution, I'm in the same boat but I have $150 a month! I think what you are doing is great and I wish you luck!
The important thing is that you're trying to eat healthy. Even if it costs more, the benefits are well worth it, and actually cost effective in the long run. Here in Mexico City, fruits and vegetables are MUCH cheaper than in the U.S. let alone Japan, so you really can't compare budgets. So maybe it's time to rearrange your budget and give yourself a raise. Lynette has a good point as well.
Happy Birthday to you, (ding) happy birthday to you, (ding) happy birthday dear Tricia (ding)
happy birthday to you!!!!
I'm thinking of ya and I hope you have a great birthday.
P.S. is there anything that you want or really like that you can't get in Japan? Just wondering
You know what? I don't want to talk about it. Biggest pain of my life. Let us know what you figure out.
