Okinawa World

On Saturday, we went to a place called Okinawa World. It's kinda like a small amusement park without the rides. The coolest thing was the Habu Museum.

The Habu snake is the deadliest thing on the island (including the ocean). It's actually pretty scary learning about it...it has a greater strike range than a cobra, they have double fangs, and are incredibly fast. If we're bit once, then we have to go home because the anti-venom will only work once. Here's a video demonstrating how fast they strike.

They had a kid area where Keira got to touch and hold some animals. She got to hold a snake (not Habu), feed a mongoose, pet a white rat, and look at a lizard (she was scared of the lizard, but not the snake...?).

We then went into some underground caves. It took forever! And I never knew that there are things that live down there! The pictures didn't come out very well because of how dark it was. These are the best ones.

And here's another one of Keira holding yet another snake...she begged us to take her up there to hold it. I hope she never asks for a pet snake....

So, that was our Saturday. We didn't get to go through all the villages. We plan on going back to try glass blowing and some of the weird food.

OH. MY. GOSH! That is a big snake! There is no way I would be brave enough to hold that!

These pictures are awesome!!! It's amazing at how big Kiera has gotten. Snakes are awesome but that's funny that she didn't want to touch the lizard. Naoki is gorgeous.
